University Group Trips

Custom Volunteer Group Programmes for University Students

From Student Union travel to degree-related projects, we provide bespoke university trips abroad for student groups.

Each year, we send both undergrad and postgrad university students on trips that enhance their studies. Help your students explore the world, build skills, and leave a positive impact on the places they visit.

There is a wide range of benefits to volunteering that can help develop your students' CVs and open them up for more opportunities after graduation.

Volunteer experience introduces students to different cultures and develops key employability skills such as communication and problem-solving. It also allows them to put their knowledge into practice in communities in need through community service.

Our most popular university volunteer projects:

Turing funding for university trips abroad

Do you have Turing funding for your university trip? We’ll help you put these funds to good use, supporting you every step of the way.

If you’re unfamiliar with this, learn more about the Turing Scheme and how it can support your group's next trip!

Why are we the best for university group trips?

We’ve worked with university students from the beginning and have created our core values to suit travellers just like you. Our trips are flexible and tailor-made to fit the unique goals of each university group.

When you book a group trip with us, your trip will be:

  • Safe: We provide 24/7 staff support from the moment volunteers arrive. Not only are we a Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge holder, but our placements are thoroughly researched, safety audited, and risk assessed in line with the British Standard BS8848 for the Adventure Travel Sector. Through our safety procedures, we ensure everyone feels safe and secure at all times while taking part in both educational and adventurous activities.
  • Hassle-Free: We do most of the organisation, so you don’t have to. We aim to take the stress out of travel, supporting your role as a group leader. Planning a trip abroad has never been easier with our hassle-free approach.
  • Impactful: Our trips aren’t typical holidays, they’re designed to leave a lasting impact on local communities while helping volunteers develop skills.
  • Flexible: Every group is different. Let’s discuss how we can cater to your needs and build a trip that enhances your curriculum. Choose where you go, when you go, how long you travel, and what volunteer work you complete.

What do others have to say?

“I look back with great satisfaction and pride with what our DSTU was able to achieve during the two weeks in Nakuru, making a real impact to the local community that we lived in for those two weeks. I had an amazing time in what is an amazing country and I am grateful for the organisation of the programme by Projects Abroad and the MOD for giving us the opportunity to go. I feel that it really developed our teamwork skills as a group as well as my own personal skills. It was the experience of a lifetime.”

- Matt Smith, Loughborough University Student
