Where interns work

Accra

Accra is the capital and largest city in Ghana. It is a vibrant and bustling place with a rich history and culture. It is home to many historical landmarks, including the National Museum, the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, and Independence Square. Known for its markets and shops selling everything from traditional crafts to designer clothes, it also contains a variety of restaurants and bars serving delicious Ghanaian and international dishes.

A day in the life of your Medical Elective in Ghana

Mornings: Start your day with the local medical team. Join ward rounds with consultants and observe complex cases. In the outpatient department, you'll take patient histories, perform examinations, and discuss diagnoses.

Afternoons: Spend your afternoons in the medical wards. Shadow local doctors and gain insights into resource management in a different healthcare setting.

Evenings: Deepen your understanding with evening training sessions. Our Projects Abroad doctor will lead discussions on healthcare delivery in Ghana.
