Join this exciting adventure in the heart of East Africa

Join us in Tanzania for this once-in-a-lifetime experience for students at Northumbria University!

We have 10 places available for Turing funding on these exciting and impactful programmes.

You’ll help support communities in need, gain hands-on work experience, and put your studies into practice.

How does it work?

Ready to start your Tanzania adventure? Here are some things to bear in mind:

  • You must join for a 4-week project as this is a Turing Scheme requirement
  • You can choose whichever project you like from our options in Tanzania
  • You must travel any time between the 1 July and the 31 August 2025
  • You will receive a special £250 Northumbria University discount from the website prices. This discount will be added to your invoice after registration.

Although we don't provide these ourselves, our staff are always happy to help you find the most cost-effective options. For Tanzania, you can collect your visa on arrival and it will cost around $50. Whatever support you need, we're with you every step of the way.

How do I apply?

You can apply for a place with Turing funding through the Northumbria University Student Portal. They’ll confirm how much funding you can expect to receive through the Turing Scheme if successful.

Once your access to Turing funding is confirmed, you'll need to pay a £195 deposit to confirm your place on a trip to Tanzania. You’ll then have until two months before your departure date to pay the final balance.
